Beautifully soft silk scarf handmade from vintage kimono; light, soft and wonderfully warm

142 cm x 32cm

I have unpicked vintage kimonos and used the fabric plus the lining (both silk) to create a unique item. Each scarf is different, depending on the lining. This scarf is made from a Japanese haori jacket detailing a landscape of green and orange/rust trees. The reverse is made from the another silk kimono using the shibori techniques - lots of very tiny knots, here dyed with ivory squares.

As each kimono has a limited amount of fabric, these scarves are truly unique and limited in production.

Note: although I have tried to only use silk in 'perfect' condition this scarf is made from vintage silk and may have imperfections due to its age and previous life as a kimono

The scarves have been handwashed and ironed. Due to the nature of vintage silk I would recommend dry cleaning.

  • All scarves have been made from unpicked and handwashed vintage silk kimonos. Handwashing or dry cleaning is recommended for all vintage silk. Direct sunlight may also cause the fabric to fade.
