One-off silk scarf upcycled from a vintage Japanese kimono.
Gorgeous terracotta with creamy yellow shibori dots, beautifully soft.
Shibori is an ancient Japanese technique used to tie-dye fabric by tying hundreds of tiny knots, every ‘flower’ is a knot.
Measurements: 79" x 7", 200cm x 17cm
Kimono are individually designed and woven - so an item made from the fabric is truly unique.
Beautifully soft, perfect to wrap around several times in colder days or throw over the shoulder to enhance an outfit.
Scarf is delivered in gift storage box with tissue paper.
Irregularities: no noticeable marks; this scarf is made from vintage fabrics which have been worn and used so there may be small marks/stains.
The scarves have been handwashed and ironed. Due to the nature of vintage silk I would recommend dry cleaning.

For decades I have added to my large collection of Japanese kimonos, buying secondhand from a family owned business in northern Japan. I only buy silk kimonos in as near perfect condition as possible. I have developed a keen eye for colour and pattern, seeking out kimonos which I think will delight others.
A popular request is to custom make scarves either to keep or buy as a gift.
